Smart ads. board for a parking car - Sep. 2014

On most days, our private car does nothing but ...parking!
We drive to work, park there until it is time to go home, where we again park our car for the night
So... let us assume the car is parking on the street and nod under ground.
The car owner can use the car as  an advertisement board (Front and/or rear wind-shield)
The board is a smart board of course. it can be solar charged. hours of actual  advertisement can be measured using a GPS component on the board. when the GPS has satellite connection, it is ON. GPS location can also help in better focusing the ads.
The board has a 3G/4G SIM card, so ads can be changed.
Future feature can be that if cars park one besides the other on the street, those boards can 'talk' and sync, so this can be a long on going ad. so you walk on the side walk and you see the ad going with you.

Money: the advertiser pays to us and the driver also gets paid of course.

Build simple apps within mobile device - Sep. 2014

Here's an idea.
There are few online web sites that have services for building android app online, on their web site. this is for people with no programming knowledge at all.

What if we could have done that within the android device itself?
Maybe for kids that can play with it? other potential users?

What do I mean?
android (iOS as well) has many APIs. so say the user has a view/screen on the device. he can drag a camera icon from a toolbox, and that's it. he has a camera feature. he can take p[ictures. now he drags a location component and that's it. he has a map with GPS coordinates on his app.
He can drag a button and that's it. he has a button that can do a or b or c....
The user can save the design he did as a template, or load it anytime he wishes to.
What do you say? is there a market? can this bring money? traction?

HERE. Get all the info you need wherever you are now. HERE! - Oct. 2013

The need: You travel to a country. Maybe to a few. Normally you would plan it all. Some will not plan. And those who will, well, plans tend to change.
You just landed. Where do I get a car from?
What’s the currency exchange rate?
Local Emergency numbers?
How do I call from here home?
How do I get to the closest subway?
How do I get a local guide speaking my language?

Solution: An app that will auto launch once you’ve landed. With all the local info you need. Ready for you.
Just like the welcome SMS you automatically get (Starthome product)

Show me the money:
  • Service Providers (Car rentals, exchange agencies, many more)
  • Ads
  • InApp purchasing (Get a car now in 20% off)
  • AfterMarketing
Exit strategy:
  • We shall have a database of users
  • We have their travel info & preferences
  • We have goods they purchase (They rent a car always, they hire a local guide, they change money etc)

Interactive user guide platform - Oct. 2013

The need: manufacturers (cars, electronic devices and actually any product) design, write and print user manuals/guides.

Many products are today internet connected. They get updated a lot. Hence, user guides tend to be out dated very quick.
More over, most guides for the same product look a like. Content is very similar.

For example, all refrigerators usually have many common features.

The solution: A platform that enables those manufacturers to send the product data (will be standard format). The platform will auto create an interactive guide for this product. On line.
As a result, the guide can be quickly produced, updated and published.

Show me the money: Probably SAAS but still need to think about it

Exit strategy: This platform can be used for more things

Platform: Recruitment Technical Filter Service - Aug. 2013

Companies (High-Tech included) use Recruitment agencies to look for candidates. Such agencies can usually filter according to your CV and education and make sure you fit the position requirements.
What if they could provide a unique service, mainly in technical positions, to enhance that filter?
Let’s say a company hires a Recruitment agency to look for software engineer for a .NET position.
Engineers could apply to this specific position via web/mobile app. They will need to answer a short technical test, relevant to the position. The hiring company can ask the agency to only pass the x engineers with the highest score or so. This way, the agency can better fit the engineers to this position. The hiring company will get less CV/people, and can actually start the next step/interview from a higher level

Pro:

  • Saves time/effort to the recruitment agency
  • Better filter

Proximity alert for drivers/walkers - June 2013

A system that will alert drivers that a walking kid/man is very near.
Most of us have smart-phones.
Many kids (And others) get injured or even worse while suddenly jumping to the road. What if there was some magic system on the drivers’ phone, as well as on the childs’?
The drivers would get an alert (Loud sound telling him to “Slow down”)  that there’s a kid nearby, let’s say in 20m radius. This gives the driver the perfect time to slow down or even stop.
As an option, the kids can also get an alert (Not sure if this is needed since that may distract him)

Pros:

  • Saving lives

Cons:

  • False alerts
  • Security
  • Where do we get revenue from?

Event based alarm clock - March 2013

Location based to-do list - Oct. 2011

Location based to-do list.
An application that lets you keep your to-do list items, and reminds you when items from your list are just nearby you

Many of us today use a stand alone to-do list/task list on our smart-phones.
There are already few cross-platform apps, so your list is always synched with the web interface, your desktop and your cell phone.

You have your items listed. that's for sure.
But of course, you're not always viewing your to-do list. How many times did you view it and realized you just got back from the mall, in which you could have bought this and that from your list? damn, you're home already. well... maybe next time.

So on your to-do list, there is a "making your wife happy" item: Buy flowers. you don't want to forget that!

You walk in the mall, just trying to get your coffee, and suddenly you get a notification to your smartphone "Dude, your to-do list has flowers in it. Zer4U is on the 2nd floor. we now have a sale just for you...."

  • There's a need to support cross-platform
  • There's a need for some cooperation from the goods providers. the store should provide some data of the goods they supply. this has to e refreshed from time to time

Show me the money......
Money can come from 3 main sources, but I guess I can think of more:
a. Advertisements within the mobile app
b. The shops within that mall (For example) will pay if they want to be in the index, so the user will see them as an option for getting that item.
c. The shops within that mall (For example) will pay if they want to be in a higher priority than other providers for the same item.

I think the best way to approach this, is to have a module of ours built in to well known to-do list apps (There are a few)

Where is my Kid/Employee/Cell Phone - Jul. 2010

Give an option for parents to look for their kids, assuming they have a smart phone connected to the 3G services. same way a user can locate his phone or an employer can locate his employee

Software LC - Nov. 2009

A software vendor (Provider) and a customer purchasing this software project.
A way to make sure the vendor gets his money and the customer gets the software & source (If agreed)

If I am the customer, I am willing to pay (Maybe not 100% up front) but at the end let's say i pay the 100% and expect to get the sources, as agreed. how can I be sure I get all source, the most updated and if at all? the developer can get the money and send nothing  at the end. and how can the developer make sure he gets all the money for the project, once he sends the code for evaluation?
The suggestion is to develop a module which can be plugged into development environment such as Visual Studio. when initiating the project, the developer gets a specific key for the project and has! to install this module. the module is activated on a new project (software project in the visual studio). all source files created in this project must be under this module. this module actually sends all the time/on compilation/else... the entire project to a 3rd party. this 3rd party (As in LC) holds the developer money as well as the sources. when the project is done to the satisfactory of both sides, the payment is sent to the provider, and source to the customer

This can be very useful in the 'Cloud' concept. already you can develop applications online. web compilers etc.

[2014: code obfuscation]

"Where's My Kid" / "Here I Am" - Oct. 2009

using a Cell phone GPS. a parent downloads a software (Controller + client). the parent can see it's kid location. The parent installs an app on his phone (Controller) and on the kids' phone (Client). according to the kids' GPS, coordinates are sent to a server. the server sends these coordinates to the controller. the controller phone runs Google maps, pointing to the location according to received coordinates.

1st, it can be for looking at your kids, when you want. but, for example, shops can let you install this application, and when you are located next to one of their stores, they know it, and for example can send you an SMS "Come in now, and you get a discount". this is the reason you may use this application.

WorkPhone - Sep. 2009

Companies must pay to employees, when they work using smartphones even after normal working hours. an application to be installed on the smartphone. employee must go into 'Work Mode' in order to get his corporate resources such as email, VPN etc.
this way the corporate can control when the user works, and can measure time in order to know how much to pay the user.

[2014: not relevant anymore, is it?]

Cellular IntranetMessaging - Jan. 2009

Develop an application for the cellular phones for free SMS.
How does it work?
Let's say I am in a huge mall, and all cellular phones there are with the bluetooth turned ON. My application can communicate to all of them, anonymously. It can build a network of all phones. if I want to send an SMS to someone, and if he is in that list, this SMS can be sent internally, no fee

[2014: whatsapp anyone? this was probably before 3G/4G was so widely spread here]

Enterprise Passwords - Nov. 2008

Each organization has lots of applications/documents and more file types which are password protected.
This enables the organization to centralize these passwords, so if someone forgot, or someone left

Virtual Domain (Virtual Active Directory) - Sep. 2008

Since the world is going into network applications, people will boot from the network. to give small business the possibility of a virtual domain, like in an actual LAN

[2014: well?]

Software Licensing Recorder-Aug. 2008

When a user in a network downloads a software (it can be freeware, shareware, trial or even with a license he bought)

Mainly to give the organization an automatic way of controlling software licensing.
If they buy a CD via the purchasing department it's OK, but if for example a dep. manager approves to buy on-line a software, and a team leader buys it, and downloads it, no one (purchasing/IT manager) will know about it.
Same for trial, shareware. there are legal issues that the organization needs to know.
So, if a software application as information of name, date of expiration, price, number of licenses, etc... as soon as someone downloads it from the web, the server in the organization captures that, records it and maybe also sends an email to the person, and the finance/purchasing dept

[2014: who needs that?]

Network Disk space share-Aug. 2008

You have in your organization lets say 100-200 desktops. if you're in an enterprise, there are many many more desktops. (Lets leave Server & Laptops out of the scope for now).
Now, if you could have checked them all (Your IT probably can) you would most probably see that each desktop has at least 1x80GB hard drive, if not a minimum of 120/160GB drive.
Some probably have more than just one hard drive and maybe even much larger.A standard PC at about 1,000 NIS comes today with a 250GB drive by default. If you do another check, I guess you could tell that most of the drive space is NOT used.
So, why not share these empty spaces via the network as a dynamic shared volume/s controlled by the domain

  • Storage of backups, snapshots
  •  Storage of temporary files
  • Shared memory for disk/memory consuming applications like simulations etc
  • Space for larger swap files to improve OS speed
  • Databases backup
  • Many more...

[2014: NAS and cloud are available. storage is so cheep]

WiMax Digital Camera-Oct 2005

The need: to upload your pictures on the spot to a remote location.
This will help if your memory is suddenly bad or if your camera was suddenly stolen during a trip, if your memory is full or so.
For example, if the camera was stolen All your pictures were already saved in a remote server.
A user will open an account in a web server.
Entering a unique ID (His Camera WiMax ID, or MAC address) he will register his camera.
Then when his camera is connected (Automatically or manually) to a Wimax service, the user will get a link.
He can configure all pictures to automatically be uploaded, or manually per picture, or never.
The service provider can charge per picture, bandwidth, picture package (1-n pictures) and many more models.
The user can also view his remote pictures via the camera LCD (If he has no memory, or full memory)

Parental Control via Finger Print system-Feb 2005

a family will have a subscription to the service.
They can define that every money transaction or adult web sites etc will require the adult finger print.
This is better than software filters since youth can easily crack it.
Better that the need for credit card or ID number, since they can always get/still it.
Family can pay per month, or per transaction (With minimum number)

Power meter-Feb 2005

The Power Meter can be hooked to any power outlet at home.
This will enable to do 2 things: (1) to know the consumption of any electrical appliance and (2) to control each outlet.
The meter can be controlled by a PC application. Each has an ID in the application, and can be named according to the place he is in.
It can be connected to the PC wireless or via the electrical wires themselves

Smart Shopping cart - RFID-Feb 2005

In a super market, will enable the client to put any item into the cart and automatically scan it. Total bill can be done there also.
This can be barcode or RFID.
This can save the cashiers (Maybe some will be left for cash clients and to solve issues).
The client will of course be able to remove an item/items from the cart.
If the cart will also have a display on it, the store can advertise items on the display according to the clients scanned products

G3 cellular phones: Control help desk over the cellular network-Feb 2005

A server application running in corporate. The help desk or IT man can be with a G3 phone, and communicate to LAN clients, to see their desktop and help.
Moreover, using VKB (Laser virtual keyboard) to project the screen/keyboard to the desk to enlarge the view for the IT man

Family Search-Feb 2005

A cellular phone application.
The father/mother can know the location of the child according to the location of the cellular phone.
This can be also used to companies.
Options: client can enable/disable the application or lock it so can not remove the application
[2014: Probably thousands of such apps are out there]

The begining

For years now I've been collecting ideas, thoughts and stuff in my mind. few years ago I started to list them up in a TOP SECRET list :-). it was so secret that no body knew about it. well, almost no one.
I guess some of those ideas are not really new. On most of them, someone else has probably thought about the exact same thing.
So, I've decided to publish this SECRET list of mine. why? why not?
Maybe someone will read it and can use it to help or contribute to the human kind?
Maybe some one will get interested and will have the energy to collaborate with me?
Maybe someone with money will invest in an  idea or two?
Maybe....
I will post them all chronologically as listed in my lists.
Any comments are welcome.
